For the newest version of Natural Earth Dataset, I volunteered to update populated places layer and transportation layers. Especially in the road dataset, I added over 20,000 roads around the world, with updated attributes and topologies. You can access the datasset in the Natural Earth Website, and watch the talks in the NACIS 2024.
